Future Technology (hw)

For the pass 1000 years, technology developed in just a snap like no one expect it to happen. Technology has a lot of new features. It can comfort us as well as entertain us. It also saves a lot of time for the people who are using it. For example, the smart homes give us total control in just a small touch-screen controller. We can play music, turn off the lights, or nearly about everything with that controller. In the field of future transportation, cars would be develop into flying cars, with those transportation ideas and information can spread around the world very fast. It seems like future technology is a great thing, but there's also some disadvantage. People that use future technology can get very lazy and not excising enough. The idea of controlling everything on a flat-screen makes people stay at 1 place. In my opinion, future technology will effect us a lot.

Biotechnology

1. What is biotechnology?

Technology of living organism.

2. Who would benifit from this technology, and what are the advantages?

I think people who would benifit from this technology are:
- People who were borned with out an arm or any other parts of the body.
- People who are disable and suffer from a sickness.
- People that experienced horrible accidents.
Advantages:
- A second chance to have a hand.
- Have better features than a normal hand.


3. Is it ethical to replace human body parts with bio technology?

I think this depends on the person who is taking this surgery. For example, that person lost the hand by accidents or diseases. It is absolutely fine to replace a bio-hand. That person will have a 2nd chance to be like everyone else, as technology grows the bio-hands may even have better features than our normal hand. On the other hand, people that is healthy and have all of their body parts, I think cutting their hands and replace a bio-hand is just nonsense. Why would they even want to cut their hands out when they are healthy. Every person has 2 hands and no more. So, i think it depends... but if someone offer me a cool-tech-bio-hand, i won't accept it. Keeping and using my own hands is perfect.

Cultural Diversity

Explain what is diversity?

In this world there are lots of countries and cultural, in my opinion the term diversity states the differences between many people around us. Every one of us is different from each other. No matter if we are in the same country, we are unique and special. Diversity contains a lot of differences: religion, language, beliefs, appearance and personalities. Due to lot of diversity, conflicts and problems start to happen. Racism is one of it; people with different cultures don’t respect each other as well.

Explain why it is important to respect diversity?

Have you ever imagine if there are only white people in this world, how they act the same and build up same ideas… that will be very sad and boring place to live. That’s why diversity exist, it makes people easier to identify and unique from others. Therefore it is very important; we should respect it. When you work or cooperate with people from different cultural, they will have unique ideas to share with you. By that way, technology will improve quickly. Respect other cultural will bring peace and happiness to this world; throwing racism out the way and bring the love in. This world will be much a better place if every one of us respects diversity.

For my Tet homework, I chose 2 sources: Newspaper and Internet. The topic i chose was about soccer(F.A cup Chelsea-Everton)

1) Similarities:
- They both have the results and information about the game.
- They both have pictures about what happened.

Differences:
- Internet: There are many links to many other websites, videos, more images,which can show us more information. We can also comments on the website.
- Newspaper: Newspaper don't have these special and unique features.

2) I think these special features are very important. It can change the viewers judgment about the information. Most people like to search on the internet because it is faster, but the information on the internet can be wrong. You have to check on your own, check the URL, and also we can check the comments of others to see if the website is biased. In my opinion, newspaper is more reliable, because the government check the newspaper before it is published.

My Holiday

            After about 4 months, all the hard works and exams are over as Semester 1 passed by. A long and relaxing Winter Break just gets started. Although I and my family didn’t travel around, I had a lot of fun. My mom planned on a trip but the airport was out of tickets, so we stayed at home instead. I woke up very late every morning. Staying at home all the time was pretty boring, but there’s a lot of interesting things happened to me.

First, I was “locked” in my house for quite a long time, while my friends were on vacation. At that time, I had a lot of free time so I asked my teacher to teach me some new things, but she always came at the wrong time. For example, she came when I was eating and studying a different subject. Therefore, I even ate with her with her sometimes. I was very surprised about it and I also learned a lot of new things, too.

I and my family had an awkward break. My family celebrated Christmas and New Year a day late. Although it was late, we had great times together. I was very excited and happy on New Year’s Eve. It was very cool to witness the last seconds of 2010 as 2011 came to begin a new year, my heart suddenly tendered at that time. I didn’t see the fireworks but my family gathered around and watched the T.V as we counted down the final “tick tocks”. I stayed up until 1.

On one-day-late-Christmas, my family and relatives did a lot of fun activities and ate a lot of food. My dad bought many cakes; I didn’t eat a lot because I was very full. At about 8, we shared presents with each other. Mom gave me ten shirts for my Christmas present; I was very surprised, and thanked her:

“WOW! Thank you so much mom! That’s a lot of shirts! I wish you have a great Christmas!”

            My Winter Break was not that bad at all. I enjoyed it a lot. It was an amazing holiday. I felt full of happiness with my family. On the last day of the holiday, I prepared my book bag, and getting ready to enter a fresh and new semester.
